The Great Singapore Sales 2009
>> Wednesday, July 8, 2009
The initial summer break plan was to go to Taipei. Unfortunately, A(H1N1) was quite serious over there. However, my friends over there told me that it isn't as serious as reported! Anyway, trip was canceled! So, we moved on to our backup trip, Singapore! The Great Singapore Sales is back! At least there's something to look forward to!
I started doing my research for my trip! There were lots to consider, from transportation to accommodation to sales deals to places to visit to a rough cost for this trip! For a week, finally my itinerary is out! It contains places to visit, mode of transportation to Singapore and the train fares as well!
On Friday afternoon, dad came home to pick me up and sent me to First Coach Office in Bangsar. The funny thing is both of us only realised that neither any of us know the way to that place when we were on the highway! Dad called his friend and then we tried to figure out our way there. We reached there in less than half an hour, of course, the traffic was smooth.
Gab reached 20 minutes later while the other two reached at 4.05pm. We boarded the bus and we were given a bottle of mineral water each and a packet of biscuits! The seats were spacious and rather comfy! At the price of RM115, I think it's very worth it! You guys can choose this bus company the next time you travel! The whole journey including a 30 minutes stop at rest house, immigration office and Singapore customs is about 5 hours. There is also power points in the bus, so you can use your electrical devices in the bus. Eg. laptop..
We reached at 9.30pm. My dear cousin, Mag and Peng Sang met us at Novena Square, where the bus stopped. We had Burger King for dinner and then we headed back home. After showering, we headed to bed because we have to meet at 9am the next morning at Marina Square.
The day started with Peng Sang overslept and next they boarded the wrong train. With these two "small" technical errors, Gab, Mag & I ended up waiting. While waiting, we walked towards the Esplanade and started taking photos. When they joined us, we headed to the Merlion Square. Next, we went to Marina Square.. Suntec City.. Bugis and then Geylang!
After dinner at Geylang, we headed to Clarke Quay. Initial plan was to chill there but due to time constrain, we left around 11pm. What to do? Train services terminate at 12am.
The next morning, we gathered at Orchard MRT station. We went for breakfast at McD, then headed to Ngee Ann City or more known as Taka (Takashimaya, a famous departmental store). Sales in Singapore is really crazy! Stuffs there were real cheap, how we wish we were earning in SGD instead of MYR! Giodarno, Baleno, Zara, Calvin Klein, Armani Exchange, FCUK and Mango were so much cheaper compared to Malaysia. If were to compare dollar to dollar, it's way cheaper over there!
Next, we headed to Holland Village. It was raining. Luckily I brought my umbrella! Plans were canceled due to the never ending rain. Trip to the Singapore Flyer and Red Dot Museum were canceled! We ended up back in Bugis Junction. Later at night, Gab and I met up Yang (his cousin) at Newton Food Centre for supper. We met at 10pm and we left at 12 something. Definitely much to talk about! She's really nice and friendly. I don't feel left out at all. *winks*
Time flies.. It's the end of our trip and it's time to say goodbye to Singapore! We went to Orchard and then back to Novena Square to have lunch! I hope everybody enjoyed! Especially the shopping! Thanks daddy for fetching me to the bus station, thanks Mag for the shelter & thanks Peng Sang for the "directions"! Haha!
