Getaway to Phuket

Hey guys! Some of u might know that I'm currently away from KL.. Taking a break from the busy city.. Here I am with 8 awesome people in Karon Beach, Phuket!

I'm just dropping by to pen down a few things we did on our very first day of the trip.. It was definitely a super fruitful day I would say as we literally walked the whole day..

First of all, I would like to thank Jon & Debbie who recommended us to this awesome hotel in Karon Beach called CC Bloom's.. We paid only 1100 baht per nite (MYR110 equivalent) for a 3 star hotel but getting the room and services of a 4 star hotel!

We had a short nap after checking in and later on headed out to Patong town.. There we had McD's samurai pork burger set for 157baht.. And den headed to scout for activities packages! Indeed we had a super good deal.. Eg. Island hopping trip - 1500 baht for 6 islands + lunch + snorkelling session, FantaSea show at only 1100 baht when outside is selling for 1500!!!

Later today, we headed to Premium Square Factory Outlet. Last but not least, we went to Naka Night Market and I think this night Market is super awesome!

Cows & Leaves to the Lion City

In June last year, Chris and I had a super spontaneous trip to Singapore.. It all started with, "Che, can we go somewhere this school holiday?" Haha! I know it's kinda random but definitely no regrets making a trip down!

That was the first time I went on an "oversea" trip with bro! It was even FUN-er when we met with the cows, OOPS! I mean Kow's over there! For me, Singapore is not an alien place for me because I went there a year ago & I've covered most of the place I should. It's more of the company that matters..

As usual, we travelled down by bus, First Coach - the all time favourite, comfy yet affordable for budget travellers like us! When we arrived, we got ourselves a simpack for easy communication and it only cost us $8! Next, we have to find our way to our grandaunty's place in Compassvale, Sengkang!

After dropping our luggages and had a short chat with grandaunt, we left for the town to meet the Kow's! First stop - Orchard Road! As a tour guide to my brother, how can I not show him the main shopping district?

We met up with them and shopped around till around 6pm we separated.. They went to have dinner with their uncle while we went to Clarke Quay, one happening tourist spot!

After a wonderful sleep, it's a brand new day again! Today, we had awesome breakfast prepared by grandaunt. After breakfast, time to meet the Kow's again! With 3 girls + 1 guy, we definitely did a lot of camwhoring!

Later in the noon, we headed to the Toy Museum.. I would say it's a lil' overrated for me as I think the collections are pretty much avail in other places. Oh well, the best part was the couch! What more could you ask for?

To compliment to our rest, we need to fill our tummy! We made our way to Bugis by foot! YES! We walked all the way to Bugis. Not too far away but definitely not a short distance. We spotted a decent place for "tea-ner" at 5pm! It's by MOF, Ministry of Food, so it shouldn't be too bad! The best thing was the PRICE!!! 50% of for the pizza!

48 hrs has passed and it's the 2nd last day of our trip! Today, I brought Chris to the Merlion! How can a tourist miss the Merlion? Hahah.. We had the whole morning to ourselves till we met Aunty Evelyn for lunch! It was nice catching up with her after N-years..

Later on, she brought us to Vivo City because Chris needs to shop!! Hahah! Omgee! TANGS over in Singapore is a must visit during the annual Great Singapore Sales! Chris got his Tiger Onisuka & Guy Laroche wallet at a super reasonable price! You definitely can't get it back here..

At about 6pm, we had to rush back to Ee Poh Daisy's place for dinner because my granduncle wanted to meet us. It was a pleasant meal & it was kinda hard for us to ask for permission to head out again to Vivo City to meet the Kow's!

The view and environment there at night is super duper awesome.. Super chilling! We were lying down on the deck and chit chat till about 1130, we know we have to leave! Time to say bye bye again!

That night, I realised I had sunburn on my shoulders but it was worth it! *winks* Time to pack up and ready to go back again.. Bus is at 1030 and things happened in the morning! We were THIS close to missing the bus but God is GOOOD! He answered our prayer & literally slower time for us to be there right before departure! I guess this concludes our trip. But of course, for those who has access to my FB would definitely know how have I been, what have I been doing and where have I been.. In this one year, I have gone through much ups & downs. Like it or not, that's life. All I wanna say is that I have been very blessed despite of my past.

It was really an awesome way to kick start my holidays. Whoops! Did I just mentioned holidays? FYI, I just graduated.. FINALLY! Didn't really like it but yeah I have no choice but to accept the FACT! Anyway, I really thank God for sending so many people to persuade me to go for camp and yes, He works in many ways and finally I still went for camp!

This was my first camp I didn't personally sign up for, didn't know a single detail of it, playing for camp and lastly no time to pack before camp! How cool it is! **fast forward** The DEPARTURE! My group has only 3 members who departs at 130pm. It was not too bad because we had wenly the story teller to keep us company till we reached Bkt Tinggi! (She'll kill me if she reads this!)

The food was of course not as cun as last year's! Those who went last year should be able to justify this statement. Anyway, I find it damn interesting when we have to win CoUZ dollars to buy our food on the 2nd night. Some might think it's messy or troublesome but I personally find it FUN!

Activities

Firstly, I would like to thank the committee for organizing the camp! All activities were fun! Although most were torturing, I still enjoyed! I was sharing with my friends yesterday and she was like, "Why do christian camps turn out to be the most torturing camp?" We all burst out into laughter!

Another thing I like is the simulations we had. The one on the ship and the Life Game because I think we actually get to experience and see from another point of view of what is really happening in the world. It's really good that we all get to share about our views apart from having fun!

Anyway, I personally think the best part is how we bonded during the activities.. And most importantly our encounter with God. All of us know very clearly that He was there throughout the whole camp. Many lives were touched some even were saved! AMEN! Truly amazing..

I'm really amazed with how God worked in my life especially at my lowest time. I know He's always there for me and He knows me very well. He spoke to me and hit every single pain in me during the sessions. Every morning's devotion passages hit me real hard and really makes me thank Him for being there. I thank those who were there for me when I needed them. Thanks for all the prayers. Thanks wenly for being there to push me for prayer on the last day! Indeed, we always need one another to sharpen and remind each other of our actions! Here, I challenged each of you to start your baby step to make a change in your life. Be it washing the dishes after meal for your mum or starting to share with your friends about the good news, do something extra today!

Everyone in this world has something very precious to them. Some would think family is the most precious, some might say love is important. Money, power and fame can be precious to some of them too! What's your most precious? Have you ever thought of this?

For me, nothing is more precious than my family. They are the ones who are always there for me no matter what happens. They are the ones who always care although I showed my temper. They are the ones who always listen to my ranting when I needed someone! Oh well, my stupid driver actually inspires me for this post! He showed me a blog, a very touching one. Those who can read chinese can check it out but for those who can't it's ok. I'll just briefly describe bout her life. In her recent posts, she expressed herself to the readers how much she misses her boyfriend who met with an accident 8 days back. What a tragedy? Can you imagine how will your life be if your most precious is taken away from you? What will you do? Will you blame God?

In life there are too many earthly things that caused us to forget what is the core in life. Imagine you lost your dearest family member and you were unhappy and you think life has no meaning anymore. You will eventually land up in mental illness. You will then be a burden to your family members. I bet all your loved ones will be very sad to see you like that. What more your Father in heaven who created you? No one will feel more than He does. This applies to a relationship as well. Holding on to a relationship that is not gonna work will not lead you anywhere better; instead, it will cause you to go crazy! I'm not kidding because this happened to me before. Oh well, I'm not gonna share much but there's one thing I would like to say is that do not harm yourself because you will hurt those who cares for you. Never think it's the end of the world because tomorrow will always be a better day! Look forward to tomorrow as you will never know what God has in store for you and me!

Yesterday's CoUZ was really awesome. The word and praise and worship really touched my heart. Every word sang pierced right into my heart. I really thank God for touching me last night. I really felt much better after that! You see, when you think life has fallen to the lowest point of your life, God will always be there to lend you a hand. Falling down is just a way God trains you to be a tougher person so you can strive further in life! Do believe, have faith in Him as He'll never fail you!

Dear friends, take a break in life and ponder what really matters. Stop dwelling in small matters and in the end neglecting the bigger ones. I've found mine, have you?

Project Winter Wonderland

This is our very first project with one new bunch of colleagues! It was really a very fun journey working with them. Although we didn't get the tender but we are satisfied to be shortlisted as the top3 finalist! *clap clap*

Oh well.. We were divided into smaller groups to increase our efficiency at work. For me, I'm the product designer! *phewwit* I love making all these.. I have tonnes of prototype I've created before; one of the very famous one is iPhone 4G[u]. It was inspired iPhone 3G[s].

Daddy's 55th

Time flies and daddy has finally reached his retirement age! Another milestone of his life has been achieved. Daddy to me never feels that old actually until this year. I see the wrinkles on his hands. I hear more nagging. I see he no longer has the stamina to do the extra miles. Here, I would like to dedicate a simple note to him although I know he'll never gonna come across this post unless my mum shows him.

The birth of my darling D90 is definitely a milestone in my life! From the day I got my D3000, I thought I'm gonna stick with it at least for a year or two. I really didn't expect to get this. I personally think if I didn't manage to sell my D3000 at such high price, I wouldn't have bought D90!

Hey guys! I'm back with a fresh start! Oh well.. For the past few weeks I have been hesitating if I should do anything to my hair? I didn't take any action till today. Not exactly a total makeover to my hair but I've chopped the unnecessary!

**fast forward** At the saloon around 1.12pm after 40 minutes drive due to the heavy traffic over at jalan kepong. When I arrived, I waited for another 20 minutes till my turn as my stylist is quite in demand. The process began with the washing then the haircut. Oh well, I know I look weird now..

After the cutting, the dying process began! After dying, washing.. AGAIN! And then, treatment.. Then, steam. Next, WASHING again! Gosh! Lastly, blow blow blow and tada! The final product!

Arrgh! Pain! It happened this morning when I was about to shower. This is something for you readers who don't really know me THAT well. Whenever I'm in to shower, I always comb my hair before the whole cleaning process begins. Today, after combing, I put the comb back into the rack as usual and this time..

I TER-SHAVED my thumb because the shaver was right beside it and so happened I slide my hand across. Hence, the cut. It was not noticed initially. I felt the pain but I didn't realise it was a cut till I saw a patch of white spot on my thumb. GOSH! Part of my thumb was SKINNED!

What comes into mind when you come across the above title? I bet the first thing that came across your mind is Batu Caves! Haha..

Oh well, we didn't visit Batu Caves or done anything related to Thaipusam. We just had a dinner after 8 years. *wow* It's such a long period isn't it? What is in common between the 5 girls who met? I was from the same class as Stacie in 2001, same class as Mun Yee in 2002, same school as Mandy in 2003-2005 and Swan, my cousin, of course I have more in common with her. I seem to be related to every single one of them but all of them got to know each other in tuition back in 2002!

It was rather hard for us to meet up although we all stay relatively near to each other because everyone is busy with their own life. I was so thankful that we make it a point to meet up last night! It was awesome. Initially we intended to head to Gardens Cafe for dinner but it was so so pack and lastly we ended up in Bubba Gump.

The food at Bubba Gump was rather ok as 2 of us shared a set meal. It consists of one bottomless drink, a caesar salad, cheesy bread, a main course and a dessert! All this for only RM55++ which is quite worth it. We even managed to get a 10% discount! *winks*

Shopping + Movie

It's the 2nd day of this semester and there is still no connection! *arrgh* How bad can that be? Oh well.. I had my first FYP of this semester at 10am. *yawn* Meeting only lasted for 30 mins and then I'm all prepared for shopping.

We left Semenyih around 12pm. **fast forward** We started surveying clothes around TimeSquare and next to Lowyat for Sushi Zanmai. After lunch, we went to Sg. Wang. 6th floor was our first target! According to them, that floor has nicer varieties and the best thing is you get to TRY!!

It was so funny that I laugh till i teared and some parts were touching that I teared too. It's the first day of the semester and it's not good because I don't have internet connection. Therefore, we decided to have a thorough cleaning at home since we have NOTHING to DO!

Swan, Eugene and I started cleaning around 2.30pm and ended around 5.30pm. 3 hrs of cleaning is really tiring! We started off by shifting stuff out of the house. Then, remove or rather dispose unwanted items into the garbage bag.

It's really so so clean that we don't mind sitting on the floor but we were all very tired. Before showering, we had few rounds of mahjong before heading up to clean ourselves for dinner.

All in all, I love my day spent with my housemates! We had fun during the cleaning session, we had funny jokes during mahjong sessions and definitely our dinner was great. Treasure it while you still can because the ultimate nightmare is about to began!

WooHoo! My exam is finally over! Today, mum, bro and I headed to The Curve to do some shopping! Guess what we got today?

Hey guys! I haven't been dropping by for quite some time since beginning of this year.. There are so much to talk about but I have no idea how or where to start with.. I think I shall briefly describe my period of examination!

Honestly speaking I don't think I studied much compared to my friends but definitely I understand well enough before entering the hall. I was back on the 8th of Jan and my first paper was on the 14th! Waste and Waste Water Treatment is my first paper this semester. Initially we thought it was hard because we never pay attention to Mr. Sivakumar's classes (we even skipped some of it!).

Back to revision, we headed to Old Town 2 consecutive days for revision as there is wifi and aircon. Progress was rather ok and thankfully, the paper was do-able as we had a Q & A session before the paper and practically all the questions came out! WooHoo! Praise God!

That day was a day where my bro watched this local production called woohoo!. It's a great movie to catch before CNY! Anyway, my bro got punked by my mum! It was so so funny! Will update on that soon!

I went back after paper so that I can attend cell on friday. Everything was fun! And you know fun never come alongside with studies. There goes my weekend! Anyway, this year things are getting more serious as we wouldn't want to be those who only come to cell just for the company but for God! To learn more bout His word. Dr. Law Chung Lim, our Safety Engineering lecturer is always unpredictable! Paper was obviously nothing similar to past year. Event tree wasn't expected to be seen in paper came out. Oh well~ I just hope I didn't do too badly. Anyway, after paper, we all started chiong-ing for RED which stands for Reactor Design. Anything to do with designing usually comes with tonnes of equations, and I really HATE it!

Hey people! How was the last bit of 2009? Bet some of you went for countdown ba. Countdown is a lil too young for me I guess? Haha.. Feeling old. Oh well, I went to church for watchnight service at 10pm, 31st Dec 2009! It was a 2 hours service. Short but meaningful! *love it*

Before heading to church, we went to One U for dinner! For my very first time in my life, I had Nando's. I know some of you might think. "Gosh! Sad la you.. How can you not tasted Nando's before?" But that's really my first time! Everything was ok except the service! It's HORRIBLE!

Dear Lord,

Thank you LORD for blessing me abundantly this year! It has been fruitful and I know I have been stretched! I've learnt to share. I've learnt to give. I've learnt to be patient. I've learnt to love. I've learnt to forgive. I've learnt to not mind too much how people think of me for that is beyond my control. In the last few weeks of 2009, I've been taught and reasoned by someone special in a very special way that I can hardly "win" when I'm in anger. Somehow, I just couldn't find a reason to say "NO" to that reasoning! Oh well, I've been CHALLENGED! I pray that you will continue to bless and lead this person to grow in your likeness. I pray that you will watch over my family. Cover your shield of protection over this home. I pray that you will continue to stretch me this year so that I can continue to shine for You, do small things that can glorify your name.. Today, I'am reminded of this passage..

This year, Christmas isn't about turkey.. It isn't about open house! Instead, we went to a Kenosis Home near Old Klang Road. This is a home where they accept former drug addicts who were released from jail, leading them back to the right path, bringing them to God.

This is a reach out by my parents' cell, Mt. Moriah. They have been going to this centre for 4 years including 2009. Each year, they will have games, sharing, testimonies and dinner will be provided. Since I'm there for the first time, I helped out a lil and most of the time, I was there taking pictures!

Christmas isn't Christmas.. till It Happens in Your Heart!

This Christmas meant so much more to me.. I'm not sure why but it just felt special! I rejected all invitations from friends for Christmas eve celebration. Instead, I had the whole night with my family! Sounds great? Definitely!

We picked mum from work at 5pm and headed to One Utama Shopping Centre! Dinner at Dave's was our plan. Thank God we were early (around 5.50pm) because we didn't make any reservation. The place was fully booked and thankfully they allowed us to have a table till 6.45pm.

We ordered full slab of ribs, signature Honey Mayo Hawaiian Pizza & Cream Carbonara with bacon and meatballs. Dinner was great when you are with your family! After dinner, we headed to Parkson for Christmas shopping!

Mum's 46th Birthday
You guys must be wondering why there is another birthday post! Reveal a lil secret to you.. My grandma is super pro.. Know why? Because all their birthdays are so so near.. Eldest aunt 25th Nov, uncle 24th, mum 23rd, 3rd aunt 5th and youngest aunt 17th Jan. The first 3 are only a day different! They are younger by each other 364days.. LOL!

Anyway, my darling mummy.. We had 2 celebrations with her this year. One is in KL, the other is in Malacca. The first celebration was with Uncle Kuan Yew and family at a modern steamboat eat-all-you-can shop in Menjalara. It only cost RM25 per pax! We enjoyed the beef slices and most importantly the fellowship. I'm sure mum is so happy to have all of them with us that night! The Lim family is definitely a gift from God!

We journeyed back to Malacca supposedly to celebrate 3 of their birthdays. I thought it was supposed to be a dinner held in some restaurants. A night with 5 girls and 1 lady.. INDESCRIBABLE! We talked and ate and shared the whole night till 5am in the morning! The pregnant lady didn't sleep early that nite! It's really fun to have a girlie night once in a while because we can speak about almost everything! We woke up around 10 the next morning and headed for DimSum after that! Love you girls!

Cell Harvest - Red Hot Merry Christmas
Prepations
There were lots to do when we decided to have this cell harvest of the year! We were divided into teams headed by a leader. The marketing and publicity team is led by Dan. They came up with various designs and I shall say great work to you and your team! The cards are beautiful!

The food section were led by Tzyy Jeng and his team worked hard that night too! As for Jee Wang, the games and word session were definitely amazing. The games were fun and sharing by Jee Wang is inspiring! Jolin was the overall chairperson and she and her team prepared a lil choir performance. Last but not least, my team - the deco team! TWO thumbs up to my team members! Thanks each and every one of you who worked so hard for this event. Without you people, the place wouldn't be as "Christmasy".

Swan's 21st at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng
My dearly beloved cousin turned 21 on the 15th this month! Her darling came back from UK to celebrate this big day with her.. How sweet of him! We headed to Wong Kok at Leisure Mall to have dinner. In conjunction to her birthday, we are entitled a Giant Milk Tea! It was indeed a beautiful dinner..

Lab Session
In year 3, we have this module called Chemical Engineering Lab which weighs 100%! Isn't this scary? Anyway, we did have a great time in lab as we learnt a alot due to some inexperienced advices! LOL! In short, we understand the experiment better because we've gone through it.. OURSELVES!

Industrial Visit(s)

Hey guys.. In this semester itself, I've visited 3 companies! First was a pharmaceutical plant - CCM Chemicals, the second one was food production plant - Yeo's and finally the third one is a wastewater treatment plant - Sime Darby Biodiesel Plant.

We are very fortunate to be able to be brought into the factory to see how is it like in the real pharma plant. We get to encounter the production process both the manual ones and the machine operated ones. We even get to see the packaging and the storage area.

I was very lucky because I was chosen to go on this RM500k forklift and we went up as high as I dont know how high but it's definitely very HIGH! Hahahaha!

After all that is happening, it has come to an end. "Ringggggg~" Bells are ringing, it's time to wake up! The year is coming to an end. So do things around, people around, even the environment around. It's a day to remember..

Some words said can't be ignored. Some actions made can't be put aside as if it didn't take place. What's done is done. For He who made this day, a day to be rejoiced! There's nothing more we can do but to fear Him at all time.

Chinese Cultural Society

In my 21 years of life, this is the first time I ever joined Chinese Society! Oh well, not too bad afterall! With a kick start to this academic year, CCS organised a welcoming party for all members. They have games, food, performances.. Overall it was great!

That night, most of the people there were strangers to us. But, with the games, I managed to know a few more friends from other faculty.

Dinner at Marche

Last saturday, we went to Marche for dinner after service. As usual, Marche is packed with people. Thanks to Uncle Kuan Yew, we got a nice place at the newly renovated area. The place is nice and I really love the atmosphere.

After settling down, we headed to the food section to get some food to fill our tummy! I got myself smoked salmon while bro got chicken chop for himself and dad. I'm just so impressed with the arrangement of the whole restaurant. I love the feel being in a market place. A clean one! Haha!

How does one become a Christian?

I came across this and decided to share with you..

Grace. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Hear. "Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ" (Romans 10:17). "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" (Romans 10:14)

Believe. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (Hebrews 11:6)

Repent. "In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent." (Acts 17:30)

Confess. "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9).

Be Baptized for the Remission of Sins. "He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." (Mark 16:15-16) Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'" (Acts 2:38) "Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." (Romans 6:3-4) "As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, 'Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?' And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him." (Acts 8:36-38)

Live a Christian Life Standing Firm in Your Faith. "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." (1 Peter 2:9) "Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." (Hebrews 10:19-24)
